CAMPAIGN DESCRIPTION
Creating and DEVELOPING the Bring the Love back CAMPAIGN: The concept being developed is the use of young people’s interest in the arts - and the power of artistic performances and visual creations, such as music, dance, theatrical productions and public service announcements - to stimulate and help sustain a change in behavior in young people. The campaign components outlined below involve collaborations between adult professionals in conflict resolution, counseling, the arts, athletics, education and electronic media. The goal of these collaborations is to create permanent Kool Zones where children are equal partners with helping adults in creating places that are safe and supportive of positive growth, having fun and learning.
The Bring the Love Back Campaign consist of the “BTLB Tour” which will introduce the students to the whole concept of choosing to live "safe and healthy lifestyles”. Collateral materials and giveaways will be given to stimulate interest in the next phase which is the implementation of the “LiveKOOL Training Camp”. LiveKOOL Training Camp is a series of social skill / peer mediation workshops taught to young people that deals with issues prevalent in their lives. Those who successfully complete the training will be eligible to belong to the Kool Zone Council. The Council provides the opportunity for students, teachers, and parents to work together to solve the problem they see present in their school and community.
The “Bring the Love Back” Tour
The “Bring the Love Back Tour” is a cutting-edge, anti-destructive behavior school/recreation center assembly program that appeals to students, teachers, and parents alike.
“Help me, Bill E. Kool”
keep the peace
The Bring the Love Back Tour’s goal is to bring the message of the “No Use” position to underage drinking, drug use, violent behavior, and destructive decisions in an interactive, entertaining and inspiring format.
The performances are designed to serve as a catalyst for dedication of Kool Zones at 50 performance sites, serving 65,000 elementary/middle school age children in metro Atlanta during the 2016-2017 school year.
This performance initiates an atmosphere of excitement about
Kool Zone workshops among students. The assembly program will demonstrate the concepts and skills necessary for creating a Kool Zone among groups of young people, ages 5-16. The Touring ensemble consists of:

DJ Bill E. Kool - will interact with and recruit credible stars who already effectively endorse commercial products and private causes. They are among the hottest marketing commodity.

V-103 On-Air Personalities - these credible stars will both embrace the community and recruit sponsors for the “V-103 BTLB” campaign.

BlackTop Circus Acting Troup provides several skits that show youth multiple ways of resolving difficult situations and making the choice to live a safe & healthy lifestyle.

The Giveaways are prizes and incentives that carry the name of the program and its sponsors. The incentives are designed to develop brand recognition as well as serving as a reminder that "it's kool to live a safe and healthy lifestyle".

CD- the principles of the BTLB Campaign message will be shared through DJ Bill E. Kool and hip-hop music. The Kool Zone creative team will produce the CD as part of the BTLB Tour. It will consist entirely of original up-beat songs and mix-tapes with a positive message as well as interactive games, health & safety collateral and links to other websites.

Community Support Materials
To develop and maintain cohesion of the “In the Kool Zone” theme, learning materials will be developed that will be used by students, teachers and parents. These materials will provide information, support and reinforcement for living a safe and healthy lifestyle. The materials will be packaged as follows:

a) The 4-page, 4-color guide includes:
§ Background materials on youth health and safety issues.
§ Ways to create school “Kool Zones”, with input from students and parents.
§ Helpful tips from other principals in dealing with specific problems including how to create a positive school atmosphere.
b) Program Announcements for School Personnel
Each principal will also receive a bulk supply of 2-page, 4-color announcement pieces describing In the Kool Zone for distribution to teachers.
Learning materials will be developed which will be used by the students, the teacher and the parents.
teacher’s kit:
a) Teacher’s Guide -The 18 page, 2-color Teacher’s guide will have an inviting 4-color cover and include:
§ Overview letter from BTLB Atlanta and PCS introducing the program.
§ Suggestions on using the materials to create a truly individual program based on the teacher’s classroom, after school programs, the school, and community.
§ Background and current information on the status of health and safety in the nation’s school.
§ A list of additional resources and curricula available to school’s on these important topics.
b) Youth Health & Safety Activities
The resource guide will also include curriculum-integrated activities that promotes healthy and safe lifestyles, with special emphasis on conflict management and social etiquette.

Classroom Video
BTLB Atlanta will produce an 8-10 minute video
tailored for classroom / after-school use in the lower and
upper grade levels. With a stop-go function that gives kids a
chance to think, the video will be closely tied to the printed
teaching materials. It will be used by the teacher to
stimulate discussion and activities to create positive
solutions.
STUDENT GUIDE
Created with state-of-the-art design and graphics, the 4-page, 4-color student guide will capture the attention of students with a clear messages on the impact of how practicing to live a safe & healthy lifestyle affects their well-being and the well-being of their families and their communities.
parent/guardian outreach Guide
To maximize the program’s impact, BTLB Atlanta will develop a special 2-page, 4-color guide designed to increase parental awareness and involvement in matters of students / school safety, living a healthy life, and conflict management.
the LiveKOOL Training Camp
The mission of the Bomb Squad is to:
“Diffuse violence in our home, school and communities.”

A leadership training called the LiveKOOL Training Camp has been developed for students to learn the skills necessary to deal with potentially volatile situations. The mission of the LiveKOOL Training Camp is to “Diffuse violence in our homes, schools and communities.” The LiveKOOL Training Camp are pro-social skill/ peer mediation training workshops, taught by a qualified Health Educator. The 6-12 week curriculum is designed to provide students the opportunity to develop skills in resolving conflict, nutrition, healthy exercise, bullying prevention & mediation, social etiquette and leadership.

Kool Zone Councils
The final goal of the Kool Zone System is to create with the student government and PTSA at each school a Kool Zone Council. The KZ Council Network is composed of site-based councils of parents, youth, faith-based, social service and community leaders.

The mission of the Kool Zone councils will be to:

Provide a means for young people to begin to assume the responsibilities of self-governance and volunteerism.

Help build a support system, focusing on their individual gifts and interests, to assist them in successfully meeting their obstacles and challenges.

Create periodic events that recognize and celebrate the achievements of these young people.
The creation of a support system of challenged and gifted young people and their families is essential if we are to begin to reverse the societal trends that have led to the current cycle of youth violence, poor eating habits, lack of exercise, fear and failure for so many of our young people.
Regional Communications Umbrella
To maximize the impact of metro-Atlanta’s effort, BTLB Atlanta will combine public health methodology with social marketing philosophy to develop and coordinate a special BTLB publicity campaign.
The campaign will:
§ Leverage the current national attention on youth violence to include prevention as it relates to safe and healthy activity.
§ Provide media and other target audiences with a proactive, prototype solution for school / youth violence prevention.
§ Build public support for BTLB Atlanta's efforts through a targeted communications campaign.
· Campaign tactics will include a six-week “media tour” to introduce the program in top media markets across the Metro-Atlanta Region.
· The BTLB Campaign will consist of the following elements:
Media Packet
The BTLB media packed will serve to debut the programs with the media, it will include the following elements:

Billboards will feature DJ Bill E. Kool asking everyone to “Bring the Love Back” as well as other positive slogans.
Press Documents on the program.
· Statistical information on national/ state youth issues.
· Endorsements from Department of Education, Mayor’s Office, and local officials in each targeted market (e.g., school superintendents).
· Identification of “spotlight” schools, teachers, and students in each market to serve as media models for the campaign.
· Establish a regional coalition of influential organizations to promote and support the program.
Bringing public attention to the social, behavioral and environmental factors associated with youth violence. This social marketing initiative consists of:
· Public Service Announcements (featuring DJ Bill E. Kool & Ruff-N-Ready)
· Radio and television,
· Print media and billboards.
· Interactive technology
· Event marketing
The programmatic thrust will involve visual awareness presentations and a Speaker’s Bureau for schools, churches, and community organization.
Public Service Announcements will be produced in partnership with BTLB Atlanta, Cox Communications and Turner Broadcasting Systems. Messages will feature “ DJ Bill E. Kool” along with sports and entertainment celebrities delivering messages that focus on the promoting living safe & healthy lifestyles and the merit of peaceful resolutions.
Billboards will be located throughout the metro-Atlanta region. Billboards will feature DJ Bill E. Kool enlisting communities to “Bring the Love Back” by making safe & healthy choices as well as other positive solutions..
